Managing FMLA Leaves
For anyone who has had to track employee medical leaves, it’s no secret that doing so can be a real headache in and of itself.  This course will de-mystify an employer’s obligations when it comes to managing the leave process.  Participants will be provided with the ‘nuts and bolts’ of what an employer can or cannot do when an employee needs time-off from work for medical reasons.
 
Wage & Hour Claims
Across the country, employers run the risk of having to pay steep civil fines and penalties when they fail to comply with labor laws assuring employees are properly paid for work performed.  This course is designed to provide participants with the “how to’s” for comply with current law, including employee classification issues (who is “exempt”), managing meal/rest breaks, overtime, and more.  Participants are encouraged to bring questions for an interactive and fun question and answer session with a practicing labor law attorney that is sure to be entertaining and helpful to all.
 
Workplace Violence
Violence, including verbal or physical assaults erupting from face-to-face contact and occurring within work-environments between employees, co-workers, customers, clients and/or vendors, or violence which stems from stalkers, spouses or mates continues to grow in frequency.  Often times because regular work routines provide the perfect opportunity to confront or harm another, how to identify potential risks, respond to actual violence, and avoid future violence should be a consideration of every proactive supervisor.  This course prepares participants with a clear overview of what obligations, duties and rights an employer has to take certain actions to maintain a safe and violence-free workplace.
 
2008 Human Resource Webinar Series - Hiring Best Practices

This HR workshop provides participants with the tools necessary to develop and improve candidate pools, create effective screening decisions, master the art of successful and lawful interviewing, avoid fodder for employment law discrimination suits.  This course will also help participants to learn how to obtain and evaluate information learned through employment background searches to improve the likelihood that the right hiring decisions are made.
