The Juggling Act: Companies Can Help Workers Achieve Work/Life Balance

Workers are encountering more changes in obtaining a balance between work and their private lives due to new developments in the workforce and a growing worldwide marketplace. The workday does not conclude when workers go home from the office, with companies giving them laptops, PDAs, cell phones, and the Internet to continue their work. The idea of family has also changed, with companies hiring more single women, single parents, couples who both work, and “sandwich generation” individuals.
